Vande Bharat Express Train: Preparations have been made to expand the network with the country’s modern and semi-high speed Vande Bharat trains. Vande Bharat Express is being run on different routes of the country. Meanwhile, it is being said in some reports that very soon 200 sleeper class Vande Bharat trains will run in the country, for which the tender process will be completed by this month.
By the end of 2025, a plan has been made by the Ministry of Railways to run 278 Vande Bharat Express trains. However, so far only 8 Vande Bharat trains have been launched. Work is on for the rest of the Vande Bharat trains. The work of making the first 78 Vande Bharat trains has been given to ICF Chennai and private company Medha. All these Vande Bharat Express trains are chair cars.
Plan to run 75 Vande Bharat Express till 15 August 2023
Last year, PM Modi had announced to run 75 Vande Bharat Express trains from Red Fort till 15 August 2023. In such a situation, preparations are being made for Vande Bharat Express trains at a fast pace. At the same time, permission has been given to prepare 478 Vande Bharat trains in total. In the next step, work will be done to make 200 sleeper Vande Bharat trains. These trains will run at a speed of 160 km.
By when will 478 Vande Bharat trains be ready
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had informed that sleeper Vande Bharat trains will be run in the country. Tender for these trains will be taken out soon. Although it is also being said in some reports that the tender for trains with Vande Bharat sleeper coaches can be taken out in this month, the companies which will bid the highest will be given the tender to make Vande Bharat Express trains. The Railway Minister has said that by 2027, 478 Vande Bharat trains will be ready.
The lowest bidder will get the tender
According to the report, the Railways will issue tenders to the two lowest bidders, the lowest bidder will be given the contract to manufacture 120 Vande Bharat trains, while the other will be awarded the contract for 80 Vande Bharat trains.
