Independent candidate Balendra Sah has maintained his lead in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City mayoral race. About 1,200 votes have been counted in three wards so far. Independent candidate Shah got 386 votes.
He is now being followed by CPN-UML’s Keshav Sthapit. Sthapit has received 351 votes. Similarly, Congress candidate Sirjana Singh from the five-party ruling coalition got 219 votes.
Looking at the results so far, Balen is 35 votes ahead of Sthapit and 167 votes ahead of Shrestha.
