According to media reports, in the high-level meeting, subsidy and technical training will be given by the state government to improve the economic and social condition of handloom and powerloom weavers of the state. The state government will also help the weavers to install modern handlooms. The state government is trying to improve the economic condition of the weavers after the approval of the scheme.

The state government will give 80 percent of the subsidy cost

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Said that under the Adhikari Jhalkari Bai Kori Handloom and Power Loom Development Scheme, the weavers should be given subsidy under any circumstances. The state government will give 80 percent of the subsidy cost. At the same time, the state government will also help on the installation of modern power looms.

These are the conditions for eligibility
The state government has also fixed the eligibility conditions for the weavers to get subsidy and other benefits. As per the rules, the District Magistrate or Tehsildar will issue the Scheduled Caste Certificate to the beneficiary. The age of the beneficiary should be 18 years or more. Weavers should be experienced. At the same time, weaver should get training. The state government has divided this scheme into three parts. The first of these is to organize a training program for modern powerloom technology. The second includes construction of modern handloom or powerloom and the third includes development of handloom or powerloom workshops. Officials say that up to 60 percent subsidy will be given on the purchase of each new powerloom by the state government.
