Arrest Warrant Against Jaysukh Patel In Morbi Bridge Case: In the Morbi Cable Bridge accident case of Gujarat, the police (Gujarat Police) has registered a case against Jaysukh Patel, the managing director of Oreva Group, which is responsible for the maintenance, renovation and operation of the bridge. On 22 January) an arrest warrant was issued. The cable bridge over the Machchu river in Morbi broke down on October 30 last year. 141 people lost their lives in the bridge accident.
Jaisukh Patel is also the promoter of Ajanta Oreva Group. Along with issuing an arrest warrant against him, the Gujarat Police has also issued a lookout circular. His company was responsible for the operation and management of the British Carpet Suspension Bridge.
Anticipatory bail application has been filed
Earlier on January 16, Jaisukh Patel had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Morbi sessions court in view of the apprehension of arrest. On Saturday (January 21), the court adjourned the hearing on Patel’s anticipatory bail plea till February 1. Principal District and Sessions Judge PC Joshi is hearing Patel’s petition. Due to non-availability of the public prosecutor on Saturday, the hearing was adjourned till February 1.
