At the same time, the Chhattisgarh government has accelerated the purchase of paddy. The state government is happy with the purchase of bumper paddy. At the same time, the farmers are happy because the state government is sending money to the farmers’ accounts within 72 hours.
100 lakh metric ton record paddy purchase in Chhattisgarh
In Chhattisgarh, there is a boom in the purchase of paddy at the purchase centers. The big achievement for the state government is that more than 100 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured this year. This is a record. Till now so much paddy has not been procured in the state. According to statistics, till January 17, 2023, more than 100 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured.
Paddy purchase will increase further
The state government has fixed January 31, 2023 as the last date for the purchase of paddy. Right now there are 11 days left to complete the deadline for paddy purchase. People associated with paddy procurement centers say that a large number of farmers are still reaching the centers to sell paddy. Paddy procurement will increase more rapidly in the coming days. This time a new record of paddy purchase will be established.
Food Minister congratulated by cutting the cake
Ministers and officials of the state government are also happy with the figure of paddy procurement in the state being 100 lakh metric tonnes. Food Minister Amarjit Bhagat cut a cake at his residence office on crossing the figure of 100 lakh metric tonnes of paddy procured in the state. He also expressed happiness over the purchase of more paddy. He said that the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is waiving the loans of the farmers. Ever since the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has been implemented. Farmers are returning back to farming.
Farmers increasing in paddy cultivation every year
Officials of the state government say that the trend of the farmers is towards farming. The figures are telling the whole situation. Compared to the year 2017-2018, the number of new farmers registered in the state has increased by 1.19 lakh, 2.58 lakh in the year 2019-2020, 1.97 lakh in the year 2020-2021 and 2.56 lakh in the year 2021-2022. In the year 2022-2023, the number of farmers registered to sell paddy has increased to 24.96 lakh. There are 2.30 lakh new farmers in this.
