Rishi Sunak Fined By Police: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been fined for not wearing a seatbelt in his car. Sunak has been fined by the police for not wearing a seat belt in a moving car while making a video on social media. Lancashire Police said they imposed the fine for breaching traffic rules.
The police officer said that Sunak has fully accepted that he was at fault and has apologised. Along with this, the officer told that he will pay this fine. The officer said that passengers not wearing seat belts can be fined up to 100 pounds. Along with this, he said that if the matter goes to court, it can increase up to 500 pounds.
Received notice of fixed penalty for the second time
PM Rishi Sunak made a video and posted it on his Instagram account to promote the latest round of government’s “leveling up” spending. This is the second time that Sunak has received a fixed penalty notice during his stay in the government. Earlier in April, Rishi Sunak was fined along with Boris Johnson and wife Carrie for breaking Covid lockdown rules to attend a birthday gathering for the then Prime Minister in June 2020. In this fine, he was asked to ignore the rules of Kovid.
Payment to be made within 28 days
Fixed penalty notice is a bond for breaking the law. This means a fine, which has to be paid within 28 days. Along with this, if someone wants to oppose the fine, then the police will review the case and decide whether to withdraw the fine or take the matter to court. Rishi Sunak was targeted by the opposition Labor Party for this reason. The party spokesperson had said that Rishi does not know how to manage seat belt, debit card, train service and economy in this country.
