Unnao Dumper Truck Accident: On Sunday (January 22) in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, a speeding truck (dumper) rammed into a car and crushed pedestrians. According to reports, six people have died in the accident. At the same time, four to five people were allegedly trapped in the car which was hit by the truck. A rescue operation was carried out with the help of a crane on the spot.
According to the news agency PTI, a speeding dumper hit the car late Sunday evening in Achalganj area of Unnao district. Superintendent of Police Siddharth Shankar Meena said that a speeding dumper hit the car near the Azad Marg intersection on the Lucknow-Kanpur National Highway in the Achalganj police station area at around 7 pm on Sunday and dragged the car and fell into the ditch.

The police officer told that six people have died in this incident. Five of them have been identified as Chhotelal (32), Shivang (30), Vimlesh (60), Rampyari (45) and Shivani (13), while one deceased is yet to be identified. Meena told that the police reached the spot and took out the people trapped in the car. He told that two people in the car had died on the spot while four others died during treatment in the hospital.
Angry people pelted stones at the police, also blocked
According to eyewitnesses, angry locals blocked the road after the accident, due to which the Lucknow-Kanpur national highway was jammed for several kilometers. When the police tried to pacify the people who were blocking the road, they allegedly pelted stones at the police. Later, the police got the jam opened after persuasion. The police have sent the bodies of those killed in the accident for postmortem.
