The good news came for the students waiting for the class 12 exam, the National Examination Board has finally made such preparations!

The National Examination Board (NEB) is preparing to submit a report to the government with options including conducting the postponed Class 12 examination in a phased manner as the risk of corona is likely to remain for a long time.

Bhawanishwar Gautam has written in today\’s Naya Patrika Dainik that the secretariat has submitted the report with suggestions to the board after discussing with the stakeholders of all the seven states.

According to an official of the board, the first priority has been given in the report to conduct the examination in phases. Apart from that, the report suggests adopting open book system, taking the exam based on the results of class-11 and sending the questions online.

The report suggests that it should be done sooner as it would be difficult to conduct examinations in winter in the Himalayan region and even the academic session would be at risk.

Prof. Dr. Chandra Mani Poudel, Chairman of the National Examination Board, said that some stakeholders have suggested that the examination can be conducted in a traditional manner after the situation returns to normal.

However, the report prioritizes other options because it is not sure when the situation will return to normal. \”The board meeting will decide which option to prioritize and submit a report to the Ministry of Education,\” Poudel said. \”We will propose, we are ready to manage the examination as per the decision of the government.\”

The board secretariat has given high priority to the proposal to conduct the examination in districts with low number of students starting from low risk districts.

As it is the final examination of the school level and it should be recognized all over the world, it is the responsibility of the board to make the class 12 examination credible.
